Rich, Smooth Dark Chocolate

Everyone loves something a little different every now and then, and the wine that is causing a stir in the last 2 years is our Chocolate Fortified wine.

The wine is rich and fully flavoured, and makes use of arguably the world’s most popular taste. The wine is made from the Cocoa Bean grown locally in Mossman, and is as dark as dark chocolate can be. This is the wine that most of our visitors buy for somebody back home.

The wine has a dark brown and profound caramel colour. A deep, dark hit of chocolate on the nose that develops into a soft velvet aroma with hints of raspberry. The palate starts with a powerful hit of chocolate – a lively beginning that soon smooths out. The chocolate has nutty, spicy, floral and/or earthy notes with hints of fruit and caramel. Light flavour of chocolate that creates a long finish with cherry flavours drying the end a little.

A rather indulgent offering here, and one that works very well simply being splashed over a few cubes of ice, or the indulgent way of spicing up an Espresso Martini. Such is the diversity of this wine, it works well over chocolate-based deserts.
